Spokane scored in the second inning but the A's tied it in the fourth and went ahead with four straight singles in the sixth inning that brought in three runs.
Archie Wilson, Babe Jensen and Sal Recca each went two for four, while Paul Jones was two for five. Recca batted in two runs while Wilson's double was the only extra base hit for Victoria.

YAKIMA, May 6—Yakima had a commanding 5-0 lead over Vancouver at the end of the fourth inning, but ended up hanging on to a 6-5 over the Capilanos tonight in the first game of a Western International League double header.
In the second game, the Packers scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to win, 5-4.
Neil Bryant slammed a two-run triple in the first inning and a two-run homer in the fourth inning of the opener for the winners.
However, Yakima's Garth Ford, who hurled no-hit ball for the first four innings, ran into trouble in the fifth and seventh when Vancouver scored three and two runs.
The Caps mounted a rally to come within a run of tying it in the seventh, and last inning, but with the tying and winning runs on third and second, Bud Hjelmaa flied out to right for the deciding out.
In the ninth inning of second game, the Yaks got a run to tie the game at 4-4 before Bob Costello walked in the winning run.
