SALEM, May 9—For the second day in a row, the Salem Senators have swept the Vancouver Capilanos in a double-header. Sunday's scores were 7-2 and 2-0.
In the opener, Paul Halter smashed a two-run homer and Joe Gedzius had a three-hit game, including a double, and two RBIs, while Stevenson tossed a six-hitter.
In the night game, Cal McIrvin outduled Ev Pearson, and allowed only three singles and three walks.
Salem scored both its runs in the first inning, with Doug Sinovic's triple accounting for one of them after a pair of scratch hits.
Caps Note - Jim Hedgecock, who won 21 games for Vancouver has been optioned to Birmingham of the Southern Association. General Manager Bob Brown has announced the purchase of Hunk Anderson, whom he traded to Salem last year for Carl Gunnarson.
